Bellport Bank Robbed

Man robs bank Wednesday evening, police say.

Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday in Bellport.

Police say a man entered the Chase bank, located at 32 Station Road, approached a teller at approximately 5:30 p.m. and presented a note demanding cash. The teller complied and the man fled on foot through the parking lot in a westerly direction.

The robber was described as black, between 25 and 30-years-old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 with a medium build. He was wearing a light-colored baseball cap, sunglasses, a white T-shirt and jeans. That description is far different from that of a man police are seeking for robbing four banks in Suffolk County last month.
