Bicyclist Struck By Drunk Driver Critically Injured: Police
A 26-year-old man was driving drunk when he struck the bicyclist Saturday morning on Long Island, police say.

FARMINGVILLE, NY – A bicyclist was critically injured after being hit by a drunk driver Saturday morning, police said.
Lee Newman, 26, was driving a 2009 Ford pickup truck south on North Ocean Avenue in Farmingville when his vehicle struck a man who was riding his bicycle west on Horseblock Road at approximately 5:15 a.m.
Armando Gonzalez, 67, of Medford, was transported by Farmingville Rescue to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Newman was arrested and charged with DWI. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Sunday.
