Driver Charged With DWI in Medford Crash That Seriously Injures Man
Accident occurred Saturday morning.

A Medford man was drunk when he veered into oncoming traffic on Route 112 Saturday morning and crashed into another car, seriously injuring its driver, police said.
According to police, Juan Fanacio-Avila was driving a 2000 Audi northbound on Route 112 near Mount Vernon Avenue at 6:07 a.m. when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and struck southbound 1999 Subaru.
The driver of the Subaru, 35-year-old Froylan Perez, of Coram, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Fifth Squad detectives charged Fanacio-Avila, 32, with DWI. He will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip.
