Flood Advisory Issued For Suffolk County
BREAKING: "Up to one inch of rain has already fallen. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected," the National Weather Service says.

A flood advisory is in effect for Suffolk County until 5:15 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service says.
"At 117 p.m., doppler radar indicated a large area of heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms approaching from the southwest," the weather service says. "This area has produced 1 to 2 inches of rainfall and will move across the area from west to east this afternoon. This will cause minor flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area."
The National Weather Service warns: "Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."
