Inactive, Antique Grenade Believed To Have Been Found Inside Medford Thrift Store: Police
A 911 caller reported the "object" at around 12:30 p.m., Suffolk police say.
MEDFORD, NY — Investigators removed what is believed to be an inactive, antique grenade from Savers Thrift Store in Medford on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
Officers from the department's Emergency Section responded to the Patchogue-Yaphank Road location after a 911 caller reported "a suspicious object that appeared to be a grenade" at around 12:30 p.m., according to police.
It was removed from the store by the officers, police said.
