Local Residents Win BBQ Contest In Staten Island
Patchogue and Sayville team members won against 33 other teams.
The Blazin Buttz BBQ team, whose members are from Patchogue and Sayville, won the NYC BBQ Cookoff in Staten Island last weekend.
The team competed against 33 others and its members were crowned the grand champions. The team won a cash prize, a trophy an entry into the American Royal Invitational in Kansas City, MO and the opportunity to cook at the Jack Daniels BBQ Invitational.
The team members include Lauren Schwarz (Sayville), Bob Schwarz (Sayville) and Frank Sacco (Patchogue). Lauren Schwarz told Patch that the team has competed at the Kansas City invitational for the past two years.
