Long Island Animal Rescue Group President Charged With Animal Cruelty
She failed to provide proper medical care to rescue dogs that were in her care, authorities say.

The president of Friends of Freddie Pet Rescue was charged with animal cruelty Sunday, Suffolk County SPCA officials announced Monday.
Barbara Sanelli, 60, of Middle Island, was charged with multiple counts of animal neglect for failing to provide proper medical care to rescue dogs that were in her care.
Friends of Freddie Pet Rescue was located in a Middle Island shopping center until it was shut down by the Town of Brookhaven last year.

Sanelli is due in First District Court in Central Islip on Dec. 14.
