
CENTEREACH, NY – A 46-year-old Long Island man was arrested for driving drunk with three teenage girls in his car Thursday evening, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, David Michels was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla north on Stanley Drive in Centereach when he was stopped for a traffic violation around 6:30 p.m.
Michels, of Centereach, was arrested and charged with DWI, aggravated DWI with a child passenger 15 years old or younger (a felony under Leandra’s Law) and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The three 14-year-old passengers were released to family members at the scene. Michels was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and was scheduled be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
