Man Killed In Crash On Southern State Parkway

ISLIP, NY – A 44-year-old man was killed in a single-car crash on the Southern State Parkway Friday afternoon, State Police said.

According to police, Mark A. Verrelli, of Medford, was driving a 2008 Toyota Scion west on the parkway, west of Exit 43N–Route 111 in Islip, when his vehicle exited the roadway onto the center median and struck a tree at about 3:45 p.m.

Verrelli was pronounced dead at the scene.
