Man Killed In Suffolk County Crash

A 31-year-old man was killed in a Suffolk County crash early Thursday, police said.

According to police, Daniel Krehl was driving a 2005 Saturn Vue east on Montauk Highway near Fanning Landing Road in Moriches when his vehicle struck the rear of a tractor-trailer, which was parked with flashers on at 2:37 a.m.

Krehl, of Claremont Drive in Moriches, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Saturn was impounded for a safety check, and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
