Man Tries to Rob Medford Bank

It happened Wednesday evening, police say.

MEDFORD, NY – A man tried to rob a Medford bank Wednesday evening, but he left empty-handed.

According to police, the man entered the Chase bank located at 2271 Route 112 at about 5 p.m. and placed a plastic bag on the counter in front of the teller. The man then verbally demanded cash. The teller backed away from the counter with the bag and the suspect fled on foot without proceeds, police aid.

The suspect was described as white, between 30 and 35-years-old, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11 with a thin build. He was wearing a black button down shirt, light-colored pants and a dark blue New York Yankee hat.
