A Lake Ronkonkoma phone store was struck by thieves Wednesday night, according to Suffolk Police.  Police say that around 8:35 p.m two males entered Star Wireless, located at 575 Portion Road, and removed two cell phones from a display case and then exited the store without paying. The 6th Squad is investigating the incident as a grand larceny, police said.

Indigo Goodson-Fields is a writer, poet, and birder based in Brooklyn. Her forthcoming book, entitled Essential Birding is an anthology about the importance of birding in the lives of Black birders across the U.S. and will be published by OR Books in fall 2026.
