Small Plane Lands On Sunrise Highway [VIDEO]
First a helicopter in the water and now a plane on Sunrise Highway. What's going on today?
YAPHANK, NY – A small plane made an emergency landing on Sunrise Highway Wednesday afternoon. It happened around 1 p.m. near Exit 57– Horseblock Road in Suffolk County, police said.
The male pilot, who was alone on the plane, was not injured. The plane was headed to Brookhaven Calabro Airport, police said. The FAA was responding to the scene and will determine how the plane will be removed from the highway.
The highway plane landing came just hours after a helicopter made an emergency landing in the Atlantic Ocean off Gilgo Beach. Shane McMahon, of WWE fame, was one of the two people on the helicopter.
