Police Seek Man Who Left Scene of Accident in Mastic

Suffolk County Police need the public's help.

MASTIC, NY - Suffolk County Police are searching for a man who left the scene of a hit-and-run on May 1 in Mastic on Montauk Highway, and they are asking for the public's help in finding him.

The incident happened around 11:50 p.m., and the man was driving a white sedan with chrome rims on the eastbound side of the highway.

Police believe the sedan was a Nissan Altima released between the years of 2002-2006. The driver of the vehicle, described as in his 30s and with black hair, drove away after hitting a pedestrian. The car likely has damage on the fender and mirror on the passenger side.

According to the police report, the pedestrian was injured after the collision and was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital to be treated.
