Special Weather Statement Issued For Suffolk County

BREAKING: Use caution if traveling tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Suffolk County:

Light winds and abundant moisture at the surface has resulted in the formation of fog. These conditions are expected to persist overnight with temperatures forecast to drop to or below the freezing mark. This will create areas of black ice on any untreated wet surfaces. Please exercise caution if traveling tonight.

Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 29. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Northwest wind 9 to 14 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 43. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. North wind 10 to 13 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 22. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. North wind around 11 mph.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 47. Wind chill values between 15 and 25 early. East wind 7 to 11 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

Monday Night: Showers likely, mainly after midnight. Cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 52 by 1am. Southwest wind 13 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
