Suffolk Federal Branch Supports Having Friends INN

In an effort to support the charitable work of local organizations that serve the areas of Suffolk Federal branch locations, the credit union has identified nonprofits to provide financial support. In Sayville, Branch Manager Sana Ashfaq presents a $1,000 contribution to Having Friends INN.

“It has been an honor to contribute to the cause of HAVING FRIENDS INN. The organization is made up of such kind-hearted volunteers working for change,” said Sana Ashfaq, Sayville Branch Manager. “I chose this organization because they work tirelessly to bring awareness to island-wide issue of hunger and homelessness.”

Founded in 1983, The INN started as a single soup kitchen run by a small group of volunteers concerned with the large number of hungry people on Long Island. It quickly grew as word spread throughout the communities and volunteers began to form an interfaith network of soup kitchens across Long Island. Today, there are a total of 14 soup kitchens in 21 locations that feed over 5,000 people each week.
