Suffolk Federal's Commack Branch Supports Local Community Organizations
Commack Branch presents a $500 contribution each to both Paws of War and The Fountainhead Congregation.
In an effort to support the charitable work of local organizations that serve the areas of Suffolk Federal branch locations, the credit union has identified nonprofits to provide financial support to. In Commack, Branch Manager Gail DiGiacomo presents a $500 contribution each to both Paws of War and the Fountainhead Congregation.
“Making a difference in the lives of our local veterans is an extremely important cause that we support here at Suffolk Federal,” said Gail DiGiacomo, Branch Manager of Suffolk Federal’s Commack branch. “What these service dogs provide to our veterans is quite incredible. They are trained to help our Veterans who suffer from PTSD and are proven to significantly improve the healing process.”
DiGiacomo also stated, “The children being helped by The Fountainhead Congregation remind me of the smiles on my own children’s faces when they went to camp. It gives me great pleasure that Suffolk Federal make such a tremendous difference for the children attending the summer camp program. Without programs like this, the children from some of our local underserved communities would suffer. We want to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

Paws of War trains and places rescued dogs to serve and provide independence to our United States military veterans who suffer the emotional effects of war. Every dog is trained for a specific veteran to fulfill his or her needs such as emotional support, assisting with balance and retrieving items, or simply to provide a sense of security and protection. The Fountainhead Congregation—along with their children’s summer camp enrichment program—provides community outreach to help the poor, underprivileged and unemployed families and individuals struggling to feed themselves when the society-based welfare programs are unable to meet all their nutritional needs.
