Suffolk Federal & Its Members Donate 860 Thanksgiving Meals
Suffolk Federal's Annual Food Drive Benefits Long Island Cares. More than 860 Thanksgiving meals provided to families in need.

Suffolk Federal recently hosted its 7th Annual Food Drive benefitting Long Island Cares, the Hauppauge-based food bank that provides emergency food assistance to more than 550 agencies across Long Island including food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers, day care centers, homeless shelters, veteran’s services and more.
Through the generosity of its members, Suffolk Federal collected more than 300 pounds of food donations. Along with a donation of $500 from the credit union, this contribution will provide more than 860 Thanksgiving meals to families in need.
“At Suffolk Federal, we’re about more than just banking, we’re about community. We believe that all Long Islanders deserve enough financial security to provide their families with basic necessities like food and shelter,” said William O’Brien, President & CEO, Suffolk Federal. “Partnering with Long Island Cares allows us to reach out to children and families suffering from hunger across Long Island.”
“We’re very grateful for the ongoing support from Suffolk Federal. The generosity of the credit union and their members enables us to make sure that families on Long Island that need emergency food receive it, especially at a time when more than 320,000 of our neighbors are impacted by hunger and food insecurity,” said Paule Pachter, Executive Director of Long Island Cares.
Suffolk Federal offers all members incredible benefits like free checking, free online banking, low interest rates on home and auto loans and much more. To learn more, visit www.suffolkfcu.org, call 631.924.8000 or visit any Suffolk Federal branch today.
