SUFFOLK FEDERAL RE-ELECTS BOARD MEMBERS

Suffolk Federal has re-elected Gary J. Lamm, Ed.D, Robert Schaefer and Mark G. Creighton, M.D. to its Board of Directors.

Suffolk Federal Credit Union has re-elected Gary J. Lamm, Ed.D, Robert Schaefer and Mark G. Creighton, M.D. to its Board of Directors. Schaefer also serves as a member of Suffolk Federal’s Member Services Committee and Credit Union Services, LLC.

Gary J. Lamm, Ed.D. of East Islip, Director, and District Administrator of Bay Shore Schools, has joined the board with 30 years of administrative and information systems experience in corporate, public education and at the university level. Dr. Lamm has held positions including Director of Technology for the Comsewogue School District, Systems Analyst for Citibank and Technical Analyst for Vitel International. He also previously served as a board trustee for East Islip School District and as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Suffolk Community College. Presently, Dr. Lamm serves as an Adjunct Professor at Stony Brook University, and has instructed graduate level courses on technology, administration, and leadership for the past 15 years. Dr. Lamm holds a Master’s degree in Technology Systems Management from Stony Brook University and a Doctorate of Education from St. John’s University.

Robert Schaefer of Oakdale, Director, has recently retired from his position as the Commissioner of Aviation at Long Island MacArthur Airport. As Commissioner, Schaefer was responsible for the management and operation of Long Island MacArthur Airport and Bayport Aerodrome. Prior to his position as Commissioner, Schaefer has held positions including Chief of Staff to Suffolk County Legislator Thomas Barraga, Deputy Commissioner of Aviation and Director of Security at Long Island MacArthur Airport and multiple positions at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey at JFK Airport where he was in charge of special flights, and other duties at all Port Authority facilities. He formally served on the Executive Board of the Long Island Visitors and Convention Bureau. Schaefer is the recipient of the Gold WTC Medal from the Port Authority for actions taken on September 11th at Ground Zero. He has also received numerous awards from the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. State Department, and United Nations.

Mark G. Creighton, M.D. of Jamesport, Director, has re-joined the Board of Directors of Suffolk Federal. He began serving as a volunteer for the credit union as a member of the Board of Managers of Member’s Financial Services in late 2009 and on the Board of Directors from 2010 through 2014. He brings extensive management and decision-making experience to the board as well as good communication and interpersonal skills. Dr. Creighton is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with offices in Hampton Bays and East Hampton and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU-Langone Medical Center. He also serves on the medical staff of Southampton Hospital and Greenport’s Eastern LI Hospital and he is a surgeon for the NYS Police Troopers. Dr. Creighton completed his orthopedic training residency at the University of Iowa. He is a graduate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and holds a B.S. from Stanford University. He has been a member of Suffolk Federal since 1997.
