Suffolk Federal’s Annual Food Drive Benefits Long Island Cares
Suffolk Federal and its Members Fight Hunger on Long Island

Suffolk Federal Credit Union recently hosted its 8th Annual Food Drive benefiting Long Island Cares, the Hauppauge-based food bank that provides emergency food assistance to more than 590 agencies across Long Island including food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers, day care centers, homeless shelters, veteran’s services and more.
Through the generosity of its members, Suffolk Federal collected more than 325 pounds of food donations and an additional $400 in monetary contributions which provides nearly 750 meals to families in need.
“Supporting our community is a top priority here at Suffolk Federal,” said Ralph D. Spencer Jr., Acting President & CEO of Suffolk Federal. “By partnering with Long Island Cares, we are able to reach out to children and families suffering from hunger across Long Island. It’s our hope that all families in our communities will one day have enough financial security to provide their families with basic necessities like food and shelter.”

The generosity of the credit union and their members enables us to make sure that families on Long Island that need emergency food receive it, especially at a time when more than 316,000 of our neighbors are impacted by hunger and food insecurity,” said Paule Pachter, Chief Executive Officer of Long Island Cares.
