Suffolk Heroin Ring Linked to 5 Deaths Dismantled: DA
The DA's office announced the major bust Tuesday night; several people arrested.

Several people will be arraigned on grand jury indictments Wednesday after Suffolk County authorities dismantled a "large scale heroin/fentanyl distribution network," the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday night.
The details of the investigation, including how the drug ring, which was based in Shirley, is linked to 17 overdoses, five of them fatal, will be released following the arraignments, officials said.
The DA's office said supplier Yulisa Almonte, 25, of Bay Shore, Ian Dunn, 21, of Shirley, Jason Dyer, 26, of Shirley, and others will face a judge in Riverhead.
The arrests come following a two-month wiretap investigation, officials said.
A second heroin distribution ring disrupted earlier this year will also be discussed at a press conference Wednesday. That ring involved Hervil St. Louis, of Jamaica, Queens supplying high quality “heavy” heroin to Anthony Baptiste, of Brentwood, authorities said.
Both investigations were conducted by prosecutors in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office working with the Suffolk County Police Department's Narcotics Squad.
The news comes just a day after Nassau Police announced the takedown of a "massive heroin trafficking operation" that operated in several Nassau towns.
