Teens Charged With Robbing Pizza Deliveryman in Medford
A police dog helped track down the teens following robbery Friday night, police say.

MEDFORD, NY - Two teens were arrested for robbing a pizza deliveryman in Medford Friday night, police said.
According to police, a 22-year-old Coram man was delivering pizza to a home on Dunbar Avenue around 8:45 p.m. when he was approached by five males.
The deliveryman dropped the pizza and attempted to flee, police said.

A struggle ensued, but the deliveryman was able to get to his vehicle and drive away, police said.
Canine Section Officer Kenneth O’Brien and his dog, Dodge, located a vehicle with people inside on Granny Road in Medford and two teens inside the car were arrested, police said.

Sixth Squad detectives charged Joel Elam, 17, of Medford, with second degree robbery. An unnamed 14-year-old boy is also charged with second degree robbery.
Elam was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip.
