Two Men Seriously Hurt in North Patchogue Crash
Accident occurred Thursday afternoon, police say.

Two men suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries in a two-car crash in North Patchogue Thursday afternoon, police said.
According to police, Nicholas Kotch, of Middle Island, was driving a 2010 Nissan Frontier south on Route 112 when his vehicle collided with a 2003 Honda being driven by Patrick Zaffarese, of Bayport, who was attempting to make a turn onto Route 112 from Old Medford Avenue at about 3:20 p.m.
Zaffarese, 51, needed to be freed from his vehicle by North Patchogue Fire Department, police said. He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with fractured ribs and other injuries, police said.

Kotch, 35, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center with a fractured femur and other injuries, police said.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash and has not been interviewed yet to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
