Patchogue-Medford School District's clerk Dennis Logan told Patch that the former Patchogue High School opened in 1925 and operated as such until the building now known as Saxton Middle School became the new high school in 1957.

The present-day Patchogue-Medford High School opened on Buffalo Avenue in Medford in 1971.
