Watch A Shed Full Of Fireworks Explode

SHIRLEY, NY – Let's get the not-so-exciting stuff out of the way. Fireworks are very dangerous. In 2015, 11 people died while using fireworks and an estimated 11,900 people were taken to the hospital with fireworks-related injuries.

"We want everyone to have fun, but we want you to be safe," Suffolk County Police Commissioner Tim Sini said Tuesday as the police department staged a demonstration at Smith Point County Park on how storing fireworks or transporting them in a car can result in the destruction of personal property and serious physical injury.

"Leave the fireworks to the professionals," Sini said.
