2 From Cincinnati Robbed Man At Gunpoint In Nassau: Police

Police say the two robbed a man at gunpoint as he got out of his car and took all his cash.

ROOSEVELT, NY — Two men from Cincinnati were arrested late Tuesday night after Nassau police say they robbed a man at gunpoint in Roosevelt.

According to police, a 21-year-old man parked his car on Williams Street in Roosevelt at 11:55 p.m. and got out when he was approached by two men. The men — Aristides Vasquez, 20, and Hector Espinoza, 22, both of Cincinnati, Ohio — each pulled out a gun and demanded that the man give them all their money, which he did.

Police say Vasquez and Espinoza then fled on foot on Williams Street, but were found a short time later by officers on Stevens Street. They were both arrested without incident.

Police say the two men had a revolver and a BB gun on them.

Vasquez is charged with first- and second-degree robbery, first-degree criminal use of a firearm, and second- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Espinoza was charged with first- and second-degree robbery, first-degree criminal use of a firearm and two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. They are scheduled to be arraigned later today.
