#69 – Sakura Japanese Restaurant

Sakura is a cozy spot that makes for an intimate dining experience.

Never overcrowded, the restaurant offers ample seating space with a quiet atmosphere. Open for more than 10 years, they focus mainly on sushi, rolls and sashimi. Named for local towns, try any number of their specialty rolls from the “Merrick” to the “Long Beach”.

Sushi not your thing? The restaurant also offers an extensive menu filled with their teriyaki, tempura or sautéed entrees. For a real value, order up a bento box which features various compartments filled with different types of food for only 14.50 and can easily be shared among a couple. Choices include shrimp teriyaki, beef negimaki and red snapper tempura, among others.

The bar also features sake, Japanese beers and plum wines for an authentic culinary experience. And don’t forget dessert. Top the night off with some fried ice cream. A delicious ball of the frozen treat enveloped in a warm sweet batter.
