#98 - Suicide Hill
Suicide Hill brings kids and parents together for some winter fun.
Turn on to Babylon Turnpike from Meadowbook Road on any snowy day and you will see cars lined up down the street. "What's going on over here," you may ask yourself as you pass by. Only the best sledding in town, according to Merrick residents.
Nestled on the west side of the Meadowbrook Parkway is Suicide Hill, a local place that kids and parents head to for some sledding fun in the winter. It is within walking distance of some Merrick neighborhoods, while other parents park along the turnpike to enjoy a snow day with their children.
So after you are done shoveling, grab a sled, garbage can, disc, boogie board or whatever else you can find and take a ride down the steep hill. When you are done letting the wind whip your face and can't fathom climbing up the hill one more time, head home, grab some hot chocolate and enjoy the snow.
