BALDWIN, NY — As school years across the county enter their final months, one administrator in the Baldwin Union Free School District is winning awards for her instructional leadership.
Dr. Gabriella Franza, assistant director of instructional programs in Baldwin, won a Nassau BOCES Education Partner Award, which district officials said places her in “an esteemed group of educators and leaders honored for their dedication, vision and service.”
Officials said the Education Partner Awards are given to exceptional administrators, teachers, students, leaders and community partners who advance education. Over the 20 years of its existence, the Education Partner Award has been given out to over 240 people.
For Baldwin leaders, the honor was “well deserved.”
“The Baldwin school community proudly congratulates Dr. Franza on this well-deserved recognition,” Baldwin Superintendent Anthony Mignella said. “Her leadership and unwavering commitment to our School2Career initiatives have strengthened meaningful pathways for students and continue to elevate excellence across the district. Dr. Franza’s work exemplifies Baldwin UFSD’s dedication to delivering innovative, future-focused educational experiences for all learners.”
Baldwin leaders highlighted Franza’s work in career education and curriculum, including the School2Career program, as achievements of hers in her current role. She will be one of 18 honorees winning awards at the 19th annual Nassau BOCES Education Partner Awards Gala this week, which takes place Wednesday night in Woodbury.
