Merrick Duo Arrested After Police Find Cocaine, Ketamine In Home, PD Says

A Merrick duo was arrested Saturday night after police found what they believed to be cocaine and ketamine in the pair's home, police say.

MERRICK, NY — A pair of Merrick residents are facing controlled substance charges this week after police found what they believed to be cocaine and ketamine at the duo’s home, police said.

Nassau County police said 29-year-old Nicholas Francis and 27-year-old Jaime Bunting were arrested after a Saturday evening investigation at their Garden Place home turned up 28.1 grams of a substance police believed to be cocaine, and a pink substance believed to be ketamine, police said.

According to police, the investigation was focused on multiple drug deals that had taken place previously. In the wake of the investigation and arrest, Francis and Bunting are facing two counts each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts each of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, police said. Additionally, police said Francis is charged with three third-degree counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and three third-degree counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Court documents show Bunting and Francis have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
