The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Our staff offers a wide range of social and employment services, including: • Development of a personalized self-sufficiency plan • Case management and referrals • Employment services, job search skills, and work experience opportunities • Outreach and community support • Social and cultural adjustment assistance • English language support • Help with school, benefits, and local resource navigation • Transitional services and employment retention support We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Rooted in compassion and dignity, Catholic Charities of Long Island is committed to helping newcomers rebuild their lives and feel safe, supported, and empowered within their new community.

Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Two armed men robbed a check cashing and money services business at gunpoint on Saturday, and Nassau police are seeking the public's help to find them.According to police, two men entered Universal Envios Corp., located at 377A Nassau Road in Roosevelt, at 5:45 p.m. Friday. The men pulled out handguns, pushed the employee in the store to the ground and demanded money. The employee, a 33-year-old woman, gave them cash, and they fled south on Nassau Road.The first man was 5 feet, 8 inches tall and had an average build. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a dark mask. The second man was 5 feet, 6 inches tall with an average build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a dark mask.Police ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
