Bellmore-Merrick Buddies Spread Holiday Cheer
The International Buddy Clubs from two different schools got together to bring to cheer to those in need.
Members of the International Buddy Club from Sanford H. Calhoun High School joined members of the International Buddy Club at Merrick Avenue Middle School, both in the Bellmore-Merrick Central School District, on Dec. 8 to celebrate the holidays and make gingerbread houses to bring cheer to those in need.
Students from various nations, ages and backgrounds spent a fun-filled cultural afternoon creating gingerbread houses that were donated to children at the Nassau University Medical Center.
“This event gave students the opportunity to celebrate while giving back to the community during this holiday season,” said world languages chairperson Enrique Montes.
