Bellmore-Merrick Gets Ready For Musical Season

The shows begin next week at the middle schools.

Students in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District have been busy preparing for upcoming spring musicals.

The season kicks off March 16 and 17 with the two middle school productions: “Fame, Jr.” at Grand Avenue Middle School and “Oklahoma, Jr.” at Merrick Avenue Middle School, both of which start at 7 p.m.

Up next is John F. Kennedy High School’s production of the hit show “Pippin,” with evening performances on March 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, March 18.

The Calhoun On Tour Company continues the fun with the Leonard Bernstein classic “On the Town.” Performances are March 18, 24 and 25, at 7:30 p.m.

Wellington C. Mepham High School’s Skull and Bones Drama Club rounds out the season with the tap dancing extravaganza, “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” Performances are scheduled for March 30, 31 and April 1, at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available for purchase at the door prior to each performance.
