Bites Nearby: Landshark

Your guide to eating out locally.

From "Sharkfin Starters" to "Sharkwiches," Landshark keeps the vibe of the sea intact.

Jump right into plenty of seafood-inspired appetizers with jumbo shrimp cocktail, clams or oysters on the half shell, clams steamed in Landshark lager, baked clams-whole or chopped, tempura shrimp, blackened swordfish bites, calamari, coconut shrimp or a jumbo crab cake.

Prefer to stick to a dish that's not so fishy? Enjoy classic buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, French fries, beer-battered onion rings, a quesadilla or the Landshark nachos featuring cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, tomatoes, jalapenos and scallions.

If you prefer a lighter meal, opt for soup – du jour or French onion – and a salad. Salad options include lobster salad, a chop-chop salad or Caesar salad.

Another path to take is to order one of the pizzas. There's the pizza of the day, so be sure to inquire with your server. Otherwise, select from either the margherita, buffalo chicken or Philly cheesesteak varieties.

The "Sharkwiches" list presents plenty of casual, yet filling, dishes. The "Sharkburger in Paradise", served on a pretzel roll, features barbecued grilled chicken with bacon. A lobster roll or a giant pig in the blanket will certainly fill up even the hungriest of stomachs. Other plates on this list include crispy chicken, cheeseburger sliders, a veggie burger and more.

When heading in for a full dinner, you'll probably want to select a meal from either the "By Land" menu or the "By Sea" menu. The former features mojo skirt steak with garlic mashed potatoes, a 16-ounce Jack Daniels marinated shell steak, chicken pot pie, chicken milanese and sauteed chicken with sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and asparagus over penne.

The latter list presents diners with the choice of cedar plank salmon, shrimp scampi, fish and chips, crab stuffed tilapia, mahi-mahi tacos, lobster mac and cheese, sesame seared tuna and seafood el diablo, which is calamari, clams, shrimp and mussels with linguini in a mild, medium or hot tomato sauce.
