About Moi.

My name is Noel  and I was invited to be a blogger on Patch by the fabulous editor Emily, my future sister-in-love.

Let's start off by getting to know each other a little better. Well, here's what you need to know about moi. 

I'm 23 years old.  I'm a Scotch-Irish, Christmas Eve baby. I'm a total Capricorn and I read my horoscope religiously. I'm female, if that wasn't already clear from my picture! I was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and grew up in Staten Island, where I now reside.  I'm a total New Yorker – fast-talker, fast-walker. I'm constantly thinking, dreaming, doing, moving, or pursuing something.  I graduated in May 2010 from Purchase as a biology and pre-medicine major. I am passionately devoted to becoming a physician. Oh, and I'm a self-proclaimed health nut. 

My interests include health and wellness, running, delicious and nutritious food, photography, yoga, boxing, Feng Shui, reading, dancing, shopping and all forms of beauty. I most enjoy time spent with my  family and friends (particularly my niece and nephew). I'm very much in love with my boyfriend of five years, who happens to be a native Long Islander. I should probably also mention that I'm a gypsy and I'm lucky if I sleep home twice a week. 

I'm currently working as a fundraiser for an adolescent obesity program in the Bronx called B'N Fit. I've volunteered there for more than four years and I've grown so much from this incredible opportunity. This year, I'll be applying to medical school, so I'll be sure to discuss the road to medicine. Also, I'm an avid runner so I'll likely write about my upcoming charity races. (I just signed up for the June 11th Mini-10K with Team in Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma  Society.) This past March, I ran my first half-marathon in NYC for the charity Team for Kids, and now I'm hooked.

I'm happy to share my thoughts and hopefully some resonate, or at the very least, entertain you. My Patch blog will offer much insight into my chaotic 23-year old life. I'm looking to reflect, ramble, and grow!
