Children's Author Visits Merrick Elementary School
Children's author and illustrator Meghan McCarthy spoke to students about becoming an author.
During Chatterton’s Parents As Reading Partners two-week long celebration, children’s author and illustrator Meghan McCarthy spoke to students about becoming an author.
Prior to Ms. McCarthy’s visit, students studied her books with librarian Ellen Widawsky and created art projects based on her work with the help of art teacher Justine Dujardin.
Honored by their hard work, Ms. McCarthy participated in a special luncheon where she shared information with students about how she wrote books, what inspired her to become an author and how creativity and imagination can create a wonderful story.
