Cops: Woman Dies in Motorcycle Crash
Woman lost control of motorcycle on Sheridan Boulevard in Inwood; passenger in stable condition, cops said.

A Far Rockaway woman died after she lost control of a motorcycle and crashed into a telephone pole, according to Nassau County Police.
Cops said Melisa Harris, 31, was riding a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle with a 41-year-old female passenger at 2:50 a.m. Sunday. Harris lost control of the bike on Sheridan Boulevard in Inwood and struck a telephone pole, police said.
Cops said Harris was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with head and facial trauma, a right wrist fracture, and a right femur fracture. Harris was pronounced dead by a staff physician at 4:15 a.m., police confirmed.

Harris’ passenger suffered a concussion and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said. She is currently listed in stable condition, cops said.
Detectives said they do not suspect any criminality in the crash and that the motorcycle was impounded for safety inspections.
