Driver Strikes Tree In Merrick, Faces DWI Charge, Police Say
A woman was arrested Wednesday night after police found her to be intoxicated at the scene of a Merrick Road crash, police say.

MERRICK, NY — A Long Island motorist is facing a DWI charge Thursday after police say her car struck a tree Wednesday night.
Nassau County police told Patch that they had responded to the scene of an accident on Merrick Road at 9:18 p.m. Wednesday, finding a Ford Bronco had struck a tree in the right lane of the road.
In the aftermath of the crash, police said there were no injuries. A 47-year-old woman is now facing a misdemeanor DWI charge stemming from the crash, police said. Police did not identify the driver Thursday morning, saying only that she was charged.
