The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. ROOSEVELT, NY — An elderly woman died in a Roosevelt house fire on Wednesday, police said. The fire happened just after 5 p.m. at 151 West Fulton Ave. Officers arrived to find smoke billowing from the second floor. They found the 79-year-old woman, who was transported to an area hospital with third-degree burns and smoke inhalation. The woman was pronounced dead a short time later, police said. Her name has not been released. All other residents of the home had safely exited. Two Nassau County police officers were treated and released from a hospital for smoke inhalation. Arson Bomb Squad Detectives and the county fire marshal's office are investigating the cause of the fire.
