
The will hold its Annual College Planning Night for juniors and their parents on Thurs. Mar. 10 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Please reserve this date on your calendar and plan to attend.
This year’s program will begin with a general session in the auditorium. In addition, small group workshops have been planned on a variety of informational topics. Attendees will have the opportunity to select three workshops (listed below) which will last one half hour each.

- Benefits of Attending a Two Year College: A representative from Nassau Community College will discuss the many opportunities available at the highly rated community college, as well as the benefits of attending any junior college.
- Programs and Services for the Learning Disabled Student: Learning specialists from the L.D. program at Adelphi will discuss identifying individual needs and matching them to accommodations available in college.
- C.U.N.Y. Four Year Colleges: Learn about the educational choices available within the City University System.
- Ivy League Schools: The search process, application process, financial aid, and early decision/early action procedures for Ivy League Schools will be discussed by the Chair of the Long Island Schools and Scholarship Committee of Harvard University.
- Local Four Year Colleges and Universities: Representatives from Adelphi, Hofstra, and C.W. Post will discuss the many educational choices available and the advantages of staying close to home.
- Local Four Year Colleges and Universities: Representatives from Molloy College, St. John’s University, and the New York Institute of Technology will discuss the many educational choices and the advantages of staying close to home.
- The Role of Athletics in College Admissions: A comprehensive analysis of recruiting practices and eligibility requirements at Division I, II, and III schools will be discussed.
- Highly Selective Colleges: A representative from Northwestern University will discuss the application review process and early decision/early action procedures for colleges in this category.
- SUNY Four Year Colleges/Changing Faces of SUNY: Representatives from Stony Brook and Farmingdale will discussthe many educational choices and opportunities that are available within the New York State University System as well as some recent changes in admissions criteria.
- Public Colleges and Universities Outside of New York: A representative from the University of Massachusetts will discuss opportunities available at large public universities.
