Ethan Leifer has been rising at a remarkable pace throughout the world of Jewish music. His debut album, Ranenu, which is produced by world-renowned pianist, Yaron Gershovsky, has been rapidly selling out in stores throughout the United States and Europe. Ethan's songs contain a wide variety of musical styles including Latin, Middle Eastern, freilach and Jewish Rock. Songs such as "Ad Anah" and "V'haer Eyneynu" have ranked high on Nachum Segal's top countdown lists of Jewish music.
For over four years Ethan has been serving as the cantor of The Merrick Jewish Centre. His unique style continues to fill the sanctuary as his renditions are both inspiring and uplifting. He has been written up in the local newspapers as well as The Jewish Week. Ethan has had the privilege of performing with some of the world's most famous cantors including Moshe Stern, Bentzion Miller, and Yaakov Motzen.
ABOUT TIZMORET
Tizmoret is in its sixteenth year as Queens College Hillel’s professional Jewish a cappella group. Under the direction of renowned Choral Director Daniel Henkin, Tizmoret has taken Jewish collegiate a cappella to the next level, performing classic Jewish melodies, American pop music and contemporary Israeli tunes. They have produced four CDs, with their most recent release – Sounds in My Head – receiving critical acclaim in contemporary Jewish and secular a cappella circles.
Tizmoret has performed for college campuses, countless b’nei-mitzvah and synagogues, and various music festivals across the Eastern United States. They recently participated in the Cantor’s Assembly Convention, performed the opening act for renowned a cappella group, The Bobs, and auditioned for NBC’s Sing-off.
