Nicole Kidman, Aaron Eckhart and Dianne Wiest star in this film dealing with how the life of a happily married couple, Becca and Howie Corbett, is turned upside down after their young son dies in an accident. Beccas grief leads her to find solace in a mysterious relationship with Jason, a troubled young comic book artist and the teenage driver of the car that killed her son. Her husband immerses himself in the past, turning to outsiders for consolation.
The Corbetts, both adrift, make surprising and dangerous choices as they choose a path that will determine their fate.
