Frank Ohman's "Adventures in Ballet"

Frank Ohman's New York Dance Theatre and the Ohman School of Ballet will present this unique program of ballet and balletic dance featuring all original choreography to a broad range of musical genres:  classical, contemporary, jazz, Broadway and world music will all be represented.  Guest artists include DaVon Doane of the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Nicole Loizides of MOMIX, and internationally acclaimed pianist Pablo Lavandera, artist-in-residence at Stony Brook University.  ERIN DRENNAN, NYDT dancer and director of the Integral Ballet in MERRICK, will be performing with the company and has choreographed a jazz ballet "Faux Pas" which will be on the program.  The title "Adventures in Ballet" reflects the idea that this classic art form is not just about story ballets and classical music exclusively, but that it can be expressed in different modes and in abstract ballets.  The music of Bach, Ravel, Liszt, Marvin Hamlisch, Richard Rodgers, Marcus Miller, Philip Glass and others (including original music by Long Island musicians) will round out this program of dance for an audience of all ages.  Come experience ballet as you never have before!
