Meet Candice Millard, author of The River of Doubt, the 2010 One Island, One Book selection. On Tuesday, April 13, Millard will speak at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library, 999 East Old County Road in Plainview, at 10 a.m.
Copies of The River of Doubt will be available for purchase and signing by the author at both events.
Tickets are free and can be obtained by emailing the Nassau Library System at tickets@nassaulibrary.info for the Nassau event, or the Suffolk Cooperative Library System at tickets@suffolk.lib.ny.us for the Suffolk event, starting at 9am on March 15. Tickets will be distributed based on the order in which the emails are received. Limit 4 per person.

Candice Millard is a former writer and editor for National Geographic magazine. The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey, was a national bestseller and was named one of the best books of the year by The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Christian Science Monitor. The River of Doubt won the Barnes & Noble Discover New Writers award and was a Book Sense Pick.
