Chabad of Merrick-Bellmore-Wantagh will be hosting it’s fifth annual ‘Purim around the World’ celebration with an African Jungle theme.
Purim commemorates the escape of the Jewish People from annihilation by the ancient Persian Empire, and is celebrated by the exchange of food packages between friends, by giving charity to the poor, by eating a traditional festive meal, and by reading the story of Purim from the Megillah (Purim scroll).
The party is open to the public and all are welcome, regardless of background or affiliation.
Megilla reading is at 12 pm and program begins at 12:30 pm.
