- Suspects remain at large after an armed robbery of a Domino's deliveryman in Farmingdale on Saturday afternoon. The 60-year-old victim says two males approached him in the vicinity of Oak Street and Cinque Drive and demanded cash, pressing a handgun into his back. - A man was sentenced on Wednesday, February 9, for a Flora Park jewelry store heist back in 2017. Brooklyn's Justice Brunson, age 43, was convicted of stealing over $80,000 worth of jewelry from Atelier Jewelers while his accomplice pretended she needed a bracelet repaired. Brunson was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison. (Daily Voice)
- Hofstra University is adding some extra credentials to its executive lineup in the coming days. Charles Riordan is set to become the school's next provost, bringing with him a resume flush with expertise in research and development as well as an understanding of the intersection of science and economic development. (Long Island Business News)

- An Elmont man has pleaded guilty to the 2020 vehicular homicide of his passenger. Ebraheem Chowdhury, age 24, admitted his role last week in the death of his 21-year-old passenger after Chowdhury drove his vehicle through a traffic circle and into a tree in the Town of Highlands. Blood tests showed that Chowdhury was under the influence of both marijuana and alcohol at the time of the accident. (Daily Voice)
