Gas Station Robbery At Gunpoint; Man Flees: Police

NORTH MERRICK, NY — A man is on the loose for robbing a gas station in North Merrick Wednesday night.

The man entered the BP gas station at 1185 Merrick Avenue just after 10:30 p.m., pointed a handgun at the 22-year-old employee and demanded money from the register, detectives said.

The worker handed an undisclosed amount of cash and the man fled on foot, police said.

There were no customers at the gas station at the time of the robbery, and no one was hurt, detectives said.
