GRK Market Hosts Merrick Ribbon Cutting

GRK Market, which is located at 48A Merrick Avenue, recently hosted a ribbon cutting with local officials and representatives from the Merrick community.

Owned by Theodore Diamantis and his mother Sotiria, both of Wantagh, the market opened six months ago, and Tiamantis has been pleased by the community's response.

"It's been great," he said. "I can't complain. I love the neighborhood, and people keep coming in."

Diamantis said that he thinks the business spurs from offering something different. 

"We carry products that your average Stop & Shop doesn't have," he added, mentioning imported cheeses as one of his signature items. He carries a number of other imported foods as well.
