Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. NORTH MERRICK, NY — An arrest was made in connection to a three-car crash on the Southern State Parkway that took place in May. State Police have arrested and charged William Herring, 28, after an investigation showed that a black backpack on the shoulder by Exit 22N had a loaded .25 caliber handgun belonging to him. Troopers used DNA to determine that Herring had ownership of the gun, state police said. Herring has denied ownership of the gun. He was charged on Friday with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The collision took place on the afternoon of May 5.
