Illegal Products On Sale At Baldwin Convenience Store Lands Elmont Man In Custody, Police Say

Police say the man was selling three banned products when they investigated the Merrick Road convenience store.

BALDWIN, NY — A 19-year-old Elmont man was arrested and charged with multiple unlawful sale violations Tuesday after he was found selling flavored vape products, kratom, THC products and pepper spray canisters out of a Baldwin convenience store.

Nassau County police said 19-year-old Abdul Tani was arrested and charged with sale of restricted products, sale of flavored products prohibited, unlawfully selling noxious materials and unlawful possession of cannabis Tuesday. According to police, officers carried out an investigation of Baldwin Convenience and Snacks on Merrick Road at 7:24 p.m. Tuesday and found the illicit materials.

Tani was given an appearance ticket, police said, with a return date of Apr. 10, 2026.
